I do not have too much to say about this font, except that it was designed by Georg Barlösius and first published in 1906 by the the Bauer foundry (Bauerschen Gießerei).

Georg Barlösius, born in Magdeburg on June 8, 1864, died on July 11, 1908, was a painter, illustrator, graphic artist and lithographer. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Berlin and at the Academy in Munich and was then active in Berlin. He designed 2 fonts, Barloesius Schrift and a slightly rounder book typeface.
